Welcome to the ANU Sea Level website

The ANU sea level website is a service dedicated to the distribution of historical reconstructions of sea level changes.

We provide observation-based information on changes in sea level around the world, specifically in regions where there have not been historical measurements of sea level. This is done with a new approach combining sea level observations with spatial representations of the processes contributing to the distribution of water, ice and heat on Earths. This will enable better-informed policy and planning to be undertaken, leading to appropriate mitigation measures.

The objectives of the project are to:

Meeting these objectives is critical if Australia is to establish and follow realistic and appropriate planning processes to adapt to and mitigate future changes in sea level around our continent.
